Welcome to Aunt Laurie’s! For those of you who don’t know me, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Laurie Brown and I’m the founder and owner of Aunt Laurie’s, a company that is driven, above all, by a passion to help others.
In simplest terms, we offer a collection of handmade gift baskets for a variety of occasions – including welcome baskets, wedding baskets, thank you baskets, “just dogs” baskets and many other custom variations. What makes these gift baskets extra special, however, is that they are assembled and packaged by individuals with physical, mental or emotional disabilities.
I have always believed that every human being has value, no matter what challenges or circumstances they face. Accordingly, my vision for Aunt Laurie’s is to inspire people to acknowledge and appreciate that value in everyone. In fact, after spending nearly 30 years in corporate America – and moving from Michigan to Bluffton, South Carolina just last year – you can say that Aunt Laurie’s was born out of my longstanding passion for helping others.
Aunt Laurie’s is fortunate to have developed relationships with a variety of organizations throughout the nation who share our vision and employ people with disabilities who, in turn, design and craft the products for our baskets. For instance, our world famous dog biscuits are baked by special friends at Waggies by Maggies, while Extraordinary Ventures Inc. in Chapel Hill, North Carolina makes the scented soy candles, soaps and scrubs we include in many of our theme basket sets.
