January News

Throughout the month of January, Laurie has already spoken at several community events, made lots of new friends, a few new business partners, and has been fulfilling orders left and right!

After speaking at the Bluffton Rotary and Hilton Head Island Home Builder’s Association meetings earlier in the month, Aunt Laurie’s also sponsored her third Lowcountry Ladies Luncheon in the past two years. Thanks to her efforts and Hampton Lakes hospitality, more than 60 women came together to shop local vendor’s booths, enjoy a catered lunch and hear the inspirational messages of guest speaker, Lisa Jones.

Jones has hosted seminars across the country, is now a published author, and is more commonly known as the “Millionaire Medium.” Her insights focus on finding the wealth within oneself and have helped men and women across the country find added value in their day to day lives. Her time with us at the luncheon was nothing short of spectacular, and we cannot thank her enough for coming to our event!

In addition to the delicious food and good company, our participants each received a surprise gift from Aunt Laurie’s. Hidden in purple bags were hand-written notes for each attendee from Laurie Brown, herself, a hand painted starfish ornament from the talented workers at Programs for Exceptional People (PEP) and specially made Valentine’s Day cards that were designed by Beaufort County Disability & Special Needs (DSN) members. Before leaving the luncheon, every woman was encouraged to use their one-of-a-kind card to write a note to someone special in their life, and every woman in attendance chose to do so.

But, aside from the speaking, presentations and event planning, there are several other things that made January one for the books! We added a few new “friends,” whose products will be featured in some of our themed baskets:
