There were certainly no shortage of things to do this month. From assembling and shipping a plethora of Valentine’s Day baskets, to working with local businesses, making guest appearances with Trapper and speaking at local Rotary events, February flew by!
This month, we added a new business partner to our family. Caro Clusters will now be providing us with delicious chocolate confections, made packaged and sold by persons with special abilities. Based in Austin, Texas, this company provides a place for individuals to utilize their unique talents and skills.
We also decided to take Aunt Laurie’s story national by entering into the American Small Business Championship, sponsored by SCORE and Sam’s Club. By the end of the first round we had 1940 votes! It’s an incredible feeling to see the support from community members and past customers and, to all who voted, I cannot thank you enough.
Aside from that, Trapper and I spent a lot of time out and about this month. The warm weather was a nice change, and made several of this month’s events all the more enjoyable. We attended a SOAR Special Recreation Movie Monday at Park Plaza Cinemas on Hilton Head Island, where Trapper visited with over 50 friends, played guessing games and even gave out a few prizes. I also took a few trips of my own and spoke at the Okatie Rotary Club meeting, spent a day helping with career preparation at the Savannah Center for the Blind and participated in the AFA (Action for Autism) trivia night.
So much has already happened so far this year, I’m excited to see what March (and the rest of the year) brings! Thanks for reading!
