About Laurie

Laurie Brown is the founder and owner of Aunt Laurie’s, where she oversees all aspects of the business and manages the working relationship with the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department in Beaufort, where the gift baskets are hand crafted and assembled.

Having spent nearly 30 years in a corporate leadership and management role at General Motors and the Volkswagen Group of America in Detroit, Laurie moved to South Carolina in 2014 and was inspired to launch Aunt Laurie’s to fulfill her longstanding passion for helping individuals with special needs.

She and her golden retriever, Trapper, are certified through Therapy Dogs International and regularly visit nursing homes, schools and hospitals to comfort the lonely, ill and disabled.
